Why Do Democrats Not Understand The Wealthy Keep The Rest Of Us Employed?

September 2nd, 2009 admin 26 comments

Now, I was under the impression, because I listened to Senator Obama during the campaign, that he’s only going to raise taxes on the rich, ’cause they’ve got it. They don’t need it. They have more than they need. They can afford it. So he needs to raise taxes on the rich and cut taxes on the, quote, unquote, “middle class.” So he wants economic recovery to bubble up from the bottom or whatever, which is very tough to do when you’re at the bottom and you’re broke. I don’t know how you bubble anything up when you’re broke, but that’s not the point. I have a story here from AP-Obama, and it’s about three Colorado ski resorts being “forced” to lay off workers. (gasping) It’s from the Durango Herald. We read the Durango Herald every day here. It’s part of our show prep rotation. (laughing) It might embarrass them so much they go out of business.
“This ski season is shaping up to be the worst in years, said a Canadian ski-resort company that has announced it has laid off workers across a dozen resorts, including three in Colorado. Vancouver-based Intrawest Corp. hasn’t said exactly how many workers it let go, but company officials say the weak economy is squeezing the ski business.” Now, who is it that goes out to Colorado and skis? No, it’s not the poor. The poor are working in the hotels. The poor are working in the restaurants, the, quote, unquote, poor. The poor are working at the ski resorts where the rich are not going because the economy is cutting into their disposable income and they think that they’ve got tax increases coming.
“Colorado’s Steamboat Ski & Resort, for example, is more than three hours by car from Denver. Because of that, most visitors fly in and stay several days, while smaller resorts closer to big cities have an easier time surviving a poor economy. ‘They’re not as dependent on out-of- state and international visitors,’ Dave Belin, director at Boulder-based research firm RRC Associates, told the Rocky Mountain News. In a survey of skiers conducted online last month, RRC found that most skiers planned to ski as often as last year. But they planned to cut back in other ways — on lodging, lessons and other extras such as traveling a long way to get to a ski mountain.” See, I thought tax increases and other trivial income killers amounted to chump change to wealthy Americans. But this is what I told you, and this is the main reason I said we gotta support Senator McCain, in fact, because of his tax policy was right.
Every time you hear Obama or some Democrat talking about raising taxes on the rich to help the little guy, it’s the little guy that gets shafted, and this ski resort story is a classic example. So we have to take the wealthy down a notch or two. How could that hurt anybody? Why, that couldn’t hurt anybody! We gotta take the wealthy down a notch or two. They give up a little chump change, Obama can spend it on welfare checks for those who don’t pay income taxes, and life is good for everybody! Except raising taxes is not chump change to rich people. That was just Obama shooting his mouth off. It turns out when the wealthy are pummeled by bad economic news of any kind they pull back, too. Nothing is chump change, and so now they’re going to visit ski resorts less. And when they, the people that pay the freight by going skiing go less or don’t stay overnight in hotels and so forth the ski resorts, three of them owned by a Canadian firm, are laying off the little guy, the guy who’s supposed to benefit from tax increases on the rich.

Should More Citizens Make Citizens Arrest On Illegal Aliens?

September 2nd, 2009 admin 19 comments

Is this a good thing?
Should more citizens take this measure to remove illegals in neighborhoods and in front of stores like Home Depot?
Does this not prove that American citizens are fed up with illegals and taking matters into their own hands?
Citizens arrest 27 day laborers at Rowland Heights-area Home Depot

(SGVN/Staff photo by Leo Jarzomb)INDUSTRY – Officials from several area restaurants have made citizen’s arrests on 27 day laborers at the Home Depot on Gale Avenue in Industry, authorities said Thursday.
Officials from businesses near the Home Depot at Gale and Fullerton Road near Rowland Heights recently complained that laborers were urinating in public and harassing customers in the parking lot.
On Tuesday, deputies warned the laborers to stay on public property. Then on Wednesday, citizens acted as witnesses and had 27 men arrested for trespassing by sheriff’s deputies, said Lt. John McBride of the sheriff’s Industry Station.
In the case of a misdemeanor, officers or deputies cannot make an arrest if the act is not done in his or her presence – with the exception of drunk driving.
During a citizen’s arrest, a private person who witnessed the alleged crime fills out a form testifying to what he or she saw, and an officer or deputy detains the person on the witness’ behalf.
Lt. Jim Wolak said deputies haven’t had problems in the past. But issues have recently been cropping up.
“We may possibly follow the lead of some other cities and put in (an area) to have them stay in an organized fashion,” said Wolak. “Of course, there are lots of politics involved in that.”
Sheriff’s officials wouldn’t release the names of the those who made the citizen’s arrests, saying the matter was still being investigated.
The General Manager of Frisco’s Diner denied being one of the restaurants involved in the citizen’s arrest, but he said people from his store have complained about day laborers.
“They are kind of an eyesore in front of our business,” said General Manager Frank Millan. “I have customers that are sometimes afraid to go out to their cars because (laborers) are surrounding the area. It is bad for all businesses around here.”
He wasn’t surprised when many of the day laborers returned Thursday.
“Tough times right

Marcos Estrada has been looking for work every day at a spot outside a Home Depot in Industry for seven years.
In that time, the 52-year-old La Puente resident only remembers one instance where police have come to the area – and that was an immigration raid.
“Yesterday, the sheriff’s said no more people here, too many problems,” said Estrada, who was not arrested.
Estrada was back Thursday, standing in the parking lot of a Del Taco across the street. Laborers are allowed to look for work as long as they stay behind a fence that marks private property. On Thursday, many failed to stay behind the fence.
Loyda Alvarado, an organizer with day labor advocacy group the National Day labor Organizing Network, said sheriff’s officials were eager to work with them toward a solution.
“With what is happening in Industry, it is important and essential that we sit down with the different parts of the community so we can come up with a way to collaborate and coexist,” Alvarado said.

Do Americans Get It Yet???

September 2nd, 2009 admin 13 comments

Ok, I have a question….Do americans know that their media from tv shows, movies, the news and even video games give them a very false view of the world?? The media in america is probably the most stereotypical kind of media on earth which fills the american mind with extreme misconceptions about the world around them. If there a such thing as an ignorant american, he or she is simply ignorant because they believe what they see and hear. For example, I recently traveled to India (I’m from the U.S) and I realized that they have many malls, clubs, bars, restaurants (Modern facilities) and brilliant infrastructure in the major cities ( new delhi, bangalore, hyderabad) and improving infrastructure in Mumbai…But the media in america shows images of poverty and any news of India is always negative when infact it is the second fastest growing economy in the world(information tech and information systems)…Do americans realize this?

Why Was A Illegal Trying To Impersonate A Cop & Using A Gift Card Painted Black With Police He Wanted Make A S?

September 1st, 2009 admin 8 comments

Why was a illegal trying to impersonate a cop & using a gift card card painted black with police and he wanted make a stop, but why ?A robbery ? Maybe murder or what would be your guess?”I don’t know if he’s trying to pull us over or what,” the man said, “but he turned his lights on and he won’t go around me or anything.”
At some point the truck driver turned off the lights.
“He ain’t got them on now,” the man told the 911 operator, “but he had them on a while ago.”
Dispatchers contacted police who saw the truck and the car, Smith said. Officers got behind the truck and directed the operator to tell the caller to exit at William D. Tate Avenue, Smith said.
That’s where officers made a traffic stop on the truck and Ramirez was arrested, Smith said.
He also carried a fake identification that was actually a gift card from a restaurant that had been painted black and had the word “police” on it, Smith said.
Police shared information about Ramirez to other law enforcement agencies who had reports of fake cops in their cities, but none had responded back by Wednesday, Smith said.
Ramirez, she added, “admitted to installing system on the truck, but he didn’t admit to any use of ID card or explain any intent or motive.”
“But,” she said, “whenever the witness felt the person in the truck was trying to get his attention or make contact — that violates the law.”
Impersonating a public servant, which is a third-degree felony, is punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
Smith noted, however, that a “hold” was placed on Ramirez by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or “ICE.” The hold indicates he is suspected of being in the U.S. illegally, which makes him ineligible for bond.http://www.star-telegram.com/news/story/…
